Birra del Borgo Enkir from Italy Birra del Borgo make use of the ancient cereal enkir, otherwise known as Einkorn wheat.  The result is a very unusual, slightly fruity beer that, alien to your tastebuds, you may not fall quickly in love with.
Avg price/liter: USD 14.69   ABV %: 6.1  Type: Pale Ale

Birra del Borgo, the darling of the Italian microbrewing world, sometime lovers of Dogfish Head, tackles the undertaking of brewing an unusual beer no one else is making.

Birra del Borgo's lover, Dogfish Head, already did this. Dogfish worked with an expert on ancient beverages and created beers from recipes unearthed from a 9,000 year old tomb in China.  Another brew was birthed by analyzing residues on drinking utensils found in a Turkish tomb.

Birra del Borgo doesn't go that far, but they do make use of the ancient cereal enkir, otherwise known as Einkorn wheat.  The result is a very unusual, slightly fruity beer that, alien to your tastebuds, you may not fall quickly in love with.

Kudos to new breweries for going out out on a limb to devise new things with the old.  Don't be pissed, however, if you don't love what you receive.
